A PTZ camera is a camera capable of remote-controlled pan (horizontal rotation), tilt (vertical rotation), and zoom adjustments. An operator or automated system can move a PTZ camera to track subjects, expand the field of view, or zoom in on specific areas of interest without physically relocating the camera. PTZ cameras are commonly deployed in fixed positions at command centers, incident scenes, and critical infrastructure sites, where they provide flexible coverage of a wide area from a single mounted device.
