MPEG Transport Stream (MPEG-TS) is a standard container format for transmitting audio, video, and data over networks and broadcast systems. It was originally designed for digital broadcast television and is structured to remain usable even when parts of the stream are lost in transit, making it robust for UDP-based delivery. MPEG-TS is widely used in live streaming over satellite, IPTV systems, and as the underlying container in HLS segments, as well as in direct camera-to-server ingest pipelines.
