Electronic Image Stabilization

Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) is a software-based technique that stabilizes shaky video footage by analyzing motion across successive frames and applying digital corrections. EIS typically works by cropping the video frame slightly and shifting the crop region in the opposite direction of detected motion, effectively canceling out small movements. Because EIS operates in software, it adds minimal hardware complexity and cost, making it practical to implement in compact wearable cameras, though it does reduce the effective field of view slightly.
