SRT

What is SRT?

SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) is an open-source streaming protocol designed for low-latency, high-quality video transmission over unpredictable networks, such as the public internet. Developed by Haivision, SRT optimizes live video streaming by reducing packet loss, jitter, and latency while maintaining secure end-to-end encryption. It is widely used in broadcast, remote production, and IP-based video workflows as an alternative to traditional streaming protocols like RTMP. SRT supports error correction and adaptive bitrate adjustments, making it ideal for delivering professional-grade video content in real-time.
