Baseband

What is Baseband?

Baseband refers to a signal transmission method where data is sent over a single channel using the full bandwidth of the medium without modulation onto a higher frequency. It is commonly used in wired communication networks, such as Ethernet, where digital signals are transmitted directly over the cable. Unlike broadband, which can carry multiple signals simultaneously using frequency division, baseband transmission supports one signal at a time and typically requires time-division multiplexing for multiple data streams.
