5G

What is 5G?

The fifth generation of mobile telecommunications technology, defined by 3GPP’s Release 15 and later. 5G operates across three spectrum bands:

  • Sub-1 GHz (low-band) for extended coverage

  • 1–6 GHz (mid-band, C-band) for balanced performance

  • 24–100 GHz (mmWave) for ultra-high-speed, low-latency applications

5G employs beamforming, massive MIMO, and network slicing for improved spectral efficiency and application-specific optimizations.
