Bandwidth refers to the maximum capacity of a network connection to transfer data, measured in megabits per second (Mbps) or gigabits per second (Gbps). It represents the theoretical ceiling for how much data can flow through a connection at once. In live streaming, available bandwidth determines the maximum bitrate a stream can sustain and therefore sets an upper limit on achievable video quality and resolution. Cellular bonding and multi-path networking are common strategies for increasing effective bandwidth in the field.
