ActionStreamer Partners with Safeware on 5G First Responder Camera

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ActionStreamer and Safeware are bringing real-time, hands-free video from the danger zone to the command post and beyond- helping teams improve safety, coordination, and decision-making during high-risk operations.

CINCINNATI, Ohio: June 18, 2026 - ActionStreamer, a leader in secure real-time wearable video and connected worker technology, today announced a strategic partnership with Safeware, Inc., a premier distributor of safety and emergency response equipment, to launch the industry’s first purpose-built 5G HazMat camera designed specifically for first responders, initially available to hazardous materials (HazMat) and Search & Rescue (SAR) operations.

The new wearable solution enables frontline responders to broadcast a live first-person point-of-view (POV) video feed directly to incident commanders, emergency operations centers, remote subject matter experts, and supporting agencies in real time. Built for the demanding conditions faced by HazMat and SAR professionals, the platform delivers low-latency, mission-critical video streaming over 5G to improve operational awareness, responder safety, and incident coordination.

“This partnership with Safeware represents a major milestone for the future of emergency response technology,” said Bob Lento, CEO of ActionStreamer. “For the first time, HazMat and SAR teams will have access to a purpose-built wearable platform that provides real-time situational awareness from the responder’s perspective. This technology has the potential to fundamentally change how dangerous incidents are managed and supported.”

Unlike traditional body cameras designed primarily for evidence capture, the ActionStreamer platform was engineered specifically for live operational use cases where real-time collaboration and remote decision-making are critical. The wearable camera integrates directly with ActionStreamer’s ActionSync platform, allowing command staff and remote personnel to securely view live video streams from anywhere in the world.

The solution was designed to support a wide range of emergency response scenarios, including hazardous materials incidents, confined space operations, disaster response, urban search and rescue missions, industrial emergencies, and tactical response environments.

“Safeware has always focused on equipping first responders with technologies that improve safety and operational effectiveness,” said Gary Sharp. “Partnering with ActionStreamer allows us to bring an entirely new capability to market - one that gives incident commanders the ability to see exactly what responders are seeing in real time and make more informed decisions during critical events.”

Key capabilities of the new platform include:

  • Real-time first-person POV streaming over 5G

  • Low-latency video transmission for mission-critical operations

  • Ruggedized wearable form factor designed for field deployment

The companies expect initial deployments and customer evaluations to begin with select HazMat, fire service and SAR organizations across the United States starting summer of 2026.
